ART PRODUCTION MANAGER

General Job Description

The Art Production Manager plans, directs, and coordinates all activities in the art department and ensures the department milestones and goals are met. 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of art production personnel and ensure projects are completed on time.

  • Create and review processes and procedures and identify areas for improvement.

  • Mentor, develop and empower employees.

  • Motivate employees in a positive way to create a team-effort work environment.

  • Collaborates with artists and other departments daily.

  • Proofread to produce accurate and high-quality work.

  • Develop graphics and layouts for product illustrations, company logos and Internet websites.

  • Ensures are on quality, on time, and on budget.

  • Track projects status and reports on a weekly basis.

  • Manage feedback process between internal customers and the art team.

  • Proactive help problem solving on art and technical issues.

  • Hire, train, and onboard new art production staff.

  • Support team with art production tasks as workload necessitates.

  • Troubleshoot any potential issues related to art production.

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications for the Job:

  • Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in art, design, or related field

  • Core Competencies

    • 5+ years of experience in art production or a related field.

    • 3+ years of management/leadership experience.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Competencies:

  • Clear and concise communication skills and the ability to collaborate with a team.

  • Excellent technical skills in Illustrator and Photoshop preferred.

  • Excellent conceptual skills and the ability to develop creative solutions.

  • Meticulous attention to detail and robust proofreading skills

  • Strong multi-tasker

  • Detail and results-oriented with strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks well.

  • Ability to work in a demanding environment and manage expectations during peak season.

  • Good judgment and decision-making ability

  • Ability to manage deadlines and work under pressure.

  • Ability to coach others to a high level of performance, manage a cohesive team, and create an atmosphere of respect and inclusion.

Regular full-time | Monday – Friday | 8 am – 5 pm 
$62,000 - $69,000 annual
Work location: On-site
