The Machine Operator is responsible for following standard operating procedures to safely operate capping equipment for containers and to ensure production procedures run smoothly to maximize efficiency.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain an orderly work area and perform clean-up and housekeeping duties – Adhere to 5S Policy.

  •  Adhere to all safety rules and regulations associated with the machine, position, and as directed by management.

  • Produce products in accordance with verbal and written instructions.

  • Perform visual quality Inspection of parts as they come off the machine or as needed.

  • Operate production equipment to produce products that support the production goals as directed.

  • Ensure machine is continually loaded with correct component parts.

  • Unload, inspect, and stage raw materials, scrap, packaging materials and other supplies.

  • Remove finished product from the production area ensuring proper identification and labeling.

  • Communicate to management any machine malfunctions.

  • Proper handling of finished pieces.

  • Maintain necessary paperwork, recordkeeping, and computer entry of work logs.

  • Communicate pertinent information to next shift.

  • Hours are 5:00 pm – 3:30 am, Monday - Thursday

Qualifications for the Job:

  • Education:

    • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Experience:

    • Proven experience as a machine operator helpful but not necessary. On the job training available for the right candidate.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Competencies:

  • Must be able to read and comprehend instructions.

  • Basic writing skills.

  • Good organizational skills.

  • Accuracy and attention to detail are essential.

  • Basic computer skills.

  • Quality - Must be able to understand and adhere to all documented procedures and quality practices.

  • Work in a safe and efficient manner.

  • Work overtime hours to ensure customer commitments are met.
