MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

The Machine Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair various machines ensuring they are in proper working condition to minimize downtime and ensure production goals are met.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and/or replace parts on machinery

  • Recommend optimal resolution based on ability to troubleshoot repair.

  • Record and maintain repair records on all equipment.

  • Perform and document regular preventive maintenance and cleaning.

  • Respond to maintenance requisitions and provide quality workmanship in a timely manner.

  • Record completion of work orders by documenting in detail the steps taken, parts installed, and/or repairs performed.

  • Maintain an accurate inventory of parts and returns on hand.

  • Maintain a clean and orderly work environment before and after maintenance work has been performed.

  • Utilize proper lockout/tagout procedures to maintain a safe environment while repairing equipment.

  • Comply with all safety regulations.

  • Identify, recommend, and participate in opportunities to improve efficiency and safety practices on the machines.

  • Required to work other assigned shifts as to meet business needs.

  • Performs other duties as required.

Secondary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Cross train on different production lines to expand knowledge.

  • Complete jobs/projects not completed on previous shift.

  • Maintain an accurate inventory of parts and returns on hand.

  • Keep maintenance shop clean and organized.

Qualifications:

  • Education:

    • High school diploma or GED.

    • Vocational training in a technical trade helpful.

  • Experience:

    • 2 years of experience in a mechanical environment.

    • 2 years of machine maintenance/repair experience.

    • Has prior troubleshooting and preventative maintenance experience.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Competencies:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude required

  • Must be able to read, understand, and utilize mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical drawings/schematics.

  • Must be able to read and interpret manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.

  • Possess a high level of urgency and can work with minimal supervision

  • Self-motivated

  • Ability to prioritize projects to meet completion dates

  • Must have an eye for detail

  • Excellent time management skills required

  • Interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships within the team and the organization

  • Good follow through skills and accountability

  • Highly organized

  • Good communication skills

  • Flexible with overtime and on-call when needed.

  • Able to work overtime as needed.
