SCREEN PRINTING TEAM LEAD

General Job Description

The Screen-Printing Team Lead is responsible for the day-to-day production within the screen-printing department to include effective and efficient planning and scheduling of personnel and equipment to ensure meeting quality standards and time deadlines. The Lead works as a team player, keeps a high level of quality and attention to detail in every single order and a positive attitude with strong customer service. They are responsible for analyzing processes, looking for improvements, and assisting with troubleshooting issues by referring to the SOP to facilitate safety, quality, and delivery.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Communicates regularly with Production Manager regarding problems or issues impacting production.

  • Engages with other departments to ensure coordination of screen printing with activities, such as sample printing, color mixing, inspecting, and packaging.

  • Analyzes problems encountered in screen printing and works with team to correct problems, utilizing knowledge of screen-printing techniques.

  • Trains new and current production associates using documented SOP’s.

  • Delegates specific job tasks to ensure optimal efficiency.

  • Tracks inventory and place orders for raw materials.

  • Coordinates with team members to ensure the production process is completed on time.

  • Conduct quality audits on finished goods to ensure standards are met.

  • Train, advise, and counsel employees on work processes and procedures as well as company policies.

  • Research and troubleshoot problems and corrective actions to allow continuous improvement.

  • Ensure all safety standards are met to prevent accidents.

  • Always follow the department’s standard operating procedures.

  • Assists with interviewing new employees.

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist training department with development of new processes.

  • Review staffing and request assistance from other departments and temporary agency if needed.

  • A willingness to learn production processes to function as back-up if needed.

  • Assist with quotes for customer service to provide accurate costs.

  • Review schedules with scheduling department to ensure equipment optimization.

Qualifications for the Job:

  • Education:

    • High School or equivalent

  • Experience:

    • Minimum 2 years’ experience supervising/leading team in a production environment.

    • 3+ years of production environment experience

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Competencies:

  • Knowledge of color theory and mixing

  • Strong attention to detail and quality control

  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

  • Works with a sense of urgency and an eagerness to learn.

  • Ability to work under pressure in an environment of shifting priorities and changes.

  • Process and detail oriented with excellent follow-up skills.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Ability to work independently using good judgement and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to manage conflict tactfully and professionally.

  • Ability to work overtime as needed to ensure on time delivery.

  • Knowledge or understanding of lean manufacturing helpful, but not required.

  • Good computer skills

  • Experience in operating both manual and automated presses is desired but not required.

  • Ability to effectively communicate with graphic designers and other staff to ensure seamless outcomes.

Monday – Friday | 7 am – 3:30 pm |$19 - $21 per hour
